Things to Do in Da Nang: A First-Time Visitor's Guide
Compartir
Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s easiest cities to build a varied trip around. You can spend the morning on the coast, head into the hills for dramatic views, and finish the day with excellent food and a walk along the river.
Start at My Khe Beach.
My Khe is an easy place to settle into Da Nang’s rhythm. Go early for a quieter walk, stay for a swim, or use the beach as a reset between sightseeing stops.
Visit the Marble Mountains.
The Marble Mountains bring caves, pagodas, viewpoints, and a dose of local history close to the city. Wear shoes with good grip and give yourself time to explore beyond the first viewpoint.
Make the trip to Ba Na Hills.
Ba Na Hills is best known for its mountain setting and Golden Bridge. Check the weather before you go, and plan enough time for the cable-car journey and the wider hilltop complex.
Walk the Han River after dark.
Da Nang is especially pleasant in the evening. Walk the riverfront, cross one of the city’s bridges, and stop for local dishes such as mì Quảng or fresh seafood.
Take a day trip to Hoi An.
Hoi An is close enough to pair with a Da Nang stay. Go for the historic streets and lanterns, then return to Da Nang for the city’s beaches and broader food scene.
What to pack for Da Nang
Pack breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a light layer for air-conditioned spaces or cooler mountain weather. A small day bag is useful for beach time and hill visits.
